The rules, community by community

We could read High Point’s rules, and they are the strictest we found in the county. The 2026 Rules and Regulations require every cart that uses High Point’s streets to be registered with the association, show proof of insurance, receive a five-digit number, and carry a registration sticker. Carts may be driven on the roadways only during daytime hours, and they are not permitted outside the community boundary, including any point on High Point Boulevard beyond the gatehouse, unless state law allows it.

We could not retrieve Brookridge’s or Silverthorn’s cart rules, so we do not summarize them; check your association’s documents. What we can say is that none of the three has a public-road designation from the county, and we could not find a City of Brooksville golf cart ordinance at all. Under F.S. 316.212 that means a standard sub-20-mph cart in Brooksville stays on private and community roads. The wet season. The same normals put annual rainfall at 51.94 inches, with about 58 percent of it falling June through September.
