Mobile Golf Cart Repair in Hudson

Spring Hill Golf Cart Repair services golf carts at your driveway throughout Hudson, across the county line in Pasco. The $50 to $100 service call includes the on-site diagnostic and applies toward the repair, with most jobs done in a single visit. Hudson is the southern end of our route, and the coastal half of it gets the same salt-first treatment as Hernando Beach.

Across the line

Hudson is a census-designated place at the westernmost end of Pasco County, with 12,944 residents at the 2020 Census. It is not in Hernando County, and we say so plainly because the rules are different: any public-street cart designation here would come from Pasco County, and we have not verified one. What Hudson shares with our home county is the cart population and the coast.

Hudson Beach is the canal side. Its canals were blasted by the Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1950s and through the 1960s, and the result is one of the largest artificial canal communities in the country, with more than 25 miles of inland waterways. Homes back onto water that is open to the Gulf, and the carts in those garages live in salt air.

Two Hudsons, two kinds of wear

Canal-side. Salt makes moisture conductive and speeds corrosion at every place two metals meet. On a cart that is battery posts, cable lugs, the pins inside the charge port, the solenoid terminals, and every piece of brake hardware. Corroded connections add resistance, resistance makes a healthy pack look weak and a healthy charger look dead, and owners end up shopping for $1,200 in batteries when the fix is a cable-and-terminal service that runs well under $150. On a Hudson Beach cart the diagnostic starts with a voltage-drop test along the main cables and a look inside the charge port, and every visit ends with terminals cleaned and coated. The tune-up is worth doing twice a year here, and the will not charge page explains why a green port is the first suspect.

Inland. Away from the water, Hudson carts get the inland pattern we see in Timber Pines: heat and rain. The nearest NOAA normals reference we use, Brooksville Chin Hill, averages 88.8 days a year at 90°F or above, and Tampa International, south of Hudson, runs 91.0°F July highs and 91.2°F in August. Heat evaporates water out of flooded cells and a dry pack sulfates permanently; a wet-season garage oxidizes terminals. Watering on schedule, a full charge after every use, and a yearly load test are the program, and the battery replacement page explains what the test tells you.

Tell us which Hudson you are in and the diagnostic is built for it. We do not sell coastal service to inland carts.

Storm season

The Gulf coast from the Nature Coast south took Hurricane Idalia’s surge in August 2023 and Hurricane Helene’s in September 2024, when tide gauges along the Nature Coast set record highs. A canal-side cart that took water in the battery compartment should not be charged or driven until the pack, cables, solenoid, and controller have been checked. Ahead of forecast weather we prioritize charger and battery calls, because a fully charged cart matters most when the power goes out. The storm season prep post has the before-and-after list.

The rules

Hudson is unincorporated, so under F.S. 316.212 a golf cart may use only public streets the county has designated, and that county is Pasco, not Hernando. We have not verified a Pasco designation for Hudson and do not claim one. A low-speed vehicle under F.S. 316.2122, titled, registered, and insured, may use any street posted 35 mph or less. The statute detail is on the street-legal rules page; the equipment either kind of vehicle needs is on the lights and street-legal equipment page.

Published prices apply

Everything on the pricing page applies in Hudson as written: lead-acid packs $1,200 to $1,800 installed, lithium conversions $1,600 to $3,500, solenoids $100 to $250, chargers $300 to $800 replaced, electric tune-ups $100 to $200. The trip fee is $50 to $100 and comes off the bill when you approve the work. Repair prices are the same as in Hernando Beach up the coast; only the trip fee absorbs distance.

Send the brand, the battery count, whether the cart lives beside a canal, and what it is doing. We will come to your driveway with the likely fix and the terminal protectant on the truck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hudson is in Pasco County. Do you still come?

Yes. Hudson is a census-designated place at the western end of Pasco County, not Hernando, and it is on our route anyway. The carts do not know where the county line is. The trip fee is $50 to $100 and is applied toward the repair when you approve the work.

Does salt air affect carts in Hudson?

On the canal side, yes. Hudson Beach's canals were blasted by the Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1950s and 1960s, giving the area more than 25 miles of inland waterways, and carts that live beside them get the same salt corrosion as Hernando Beach carts: terminals, cable lugs, charge-port pins, brake hardware. Inland Hudson carts get the heat-and-humidity wear instead.

Are golf carts allowed on Hudson streets?

Hudson is unincorporated, so under F.S. 316.212 a cart may use only streets Pasco County has designated. We have not verified any Pasco designation for Hudson and do not claim one; check with the county before taking a sub-20-mph cart onto a public road. A titled low-speed vehicle may use streets posted 35 mph or less under F.S. 316.2122.

Do lithium batteries make sense on a canal-side cart?

Often, and for a reason beyond life span: a sealed lithium or AGM case keeps salt air off the plates and terminals, which is where a flooded pack suffers most near the water. Lithium runs $1,600 to $3,500 installed against $1,200 to $1,800 for lead-acid. We run your usage and your exposure before recommending either.
